Could a to do app be the best place to build advanced AI? 🤔
Few days ago, a to do app maker released an AI assistant tool that suggests actions that may help you complete items in your todo list. For example, if you have a grocery list, it could offer to add the items in your list in the basket for you to review or if you are looking for Xmas presents it may offer some recommendations along with links to buy them.
And while this feature may or may not be a success, it could be that a todo app is in a remarkably good spot to implement the AI assistant we have been promised. In the same way that Tesla has a competitive edge over Waymo on self driving due to its fleet of cars that are been driven by humans and collect data, a todo app has a crucial missing data point, that of intent of the user associated with a set of actions if the user allows the collection of that data.
It might not be far fetched that an AI todo app soon, will promise to learn from your actions and slowly replace tasks of increasing complexity 🤖 And in the process build the next generation of AI we need…
